This is probably one of my most favorite songs. I had the privilege to be a part of the WMI Chorus this year and we were able to sing this song. The lyrics are very powerful.  If Christ had a deep love for us shouldn’t we return the favor? I Worry that sometimes I do not. In fact I am sure that I do not always return the favor. But we must strive to do so. Like it says  “you’ll be there to guide me, hold my hand and never let me go.”

Nobody knew! would you have known before he died? I wouldn’t have. Jesus was the first real rebel with a cause! Buck the system and change the world!  That’s what we all try to be right? That’s what I want!

So I had the opportunity this weekend to attend the Golden State Youth Councils as well as other things. The theme for the retreat was CHOSEN. My friend and old camp counselor Jim Sparks talked about how many are called but few are chosen. He tied it into how we must DIVE into our relationship with Christ. I thought immediately of the song by Steven Curtis Chapman. “In over my head I want to be, Caught in the run, lost in the flow, in over my head I want to go, the river’s deep, the river’s wide, the river’s water is alive, SO SINK OR SWIM, I’m diving in.” Think about that, SINK OR SWIM, whatever you want LORD, Whatever it takes, I want to be so immersed in you that I’m in way over my head! Can you imagine that. I have been in currents that are hard to keep my head above, I cant even begin to imagine how that would be  spiritually. To have NO/ZERO/ NOTTA? control of things? What a concept! And yet, we are CHOSEN to do just that. It reminds me of the words in Romans, we are called, we are chosen, we are justified in Christ, and we will be forever glorified. I want that, how about you?

Healing Rain-

A thought occurred to me as I watched this, Sometimes I AM afraid of the healing rain. I hide under an umbrella or inside. If we are afraid of God’s love and mercy, we will never get to partake in it. I don’t know about all of you but I love to stand outside or walk in the rain. It is my favorite weather. Too many years in Colorado made me just not like the snow as much! To watch as the whole world is cleaned by God to be washed in that, Its awesome. All the Snow, Wind, Sand, Dust, and Heat just don’t have what Rain has. The ability to CLEAN! I want that clean feeling how about you?
